The Samadhi Center is a rare and precious gift for anyone who has been walking a spiritual path.  The retreats are so well organized, there is tons of time devoted to direct practice and you get all your questions answered by the teacher, face to face. There is a devoted and capable support staff.  The technology always works properly. And most of all, Dan is an amazing teacher with so much of his own direct experience as well as a deep and broad knowledge and practical understanding of the teachings from so many traditions.  He draws on all of this as he teaches.  It is just a blessing.  For me, this place is an answer to prayer. They truly are engaged in the mission of awakening the world. **A Life-Changing Experience with Dan at the 7 Days Online I AM Retreat – Samadhi Centre**

I have participated in the 7 Days Online I AM Retreat with Dan from Samadhi Centre twice now, and both experiences have been nothing short of transformative. The depth and clarity I gained through this retreat far exceeded any expectation I had going into it.

Before discovering this retreat, I had already experienced some profound moments of awakening in Vipassana. However, something was missing. In Vipassana, I had glimpses of the truth, but there was no one there to guide me fully through what I was experiencing. I am deeply moved by how lovingly, presently, and purely Dan and Lilla lead The Samadhi Center. The 'IAM' retreat was really intense and tough at times, and even though the time difference was seven-hours ahead, I had such strong guidance that this is the real thing, so I was involved in everything live from start to finish.
The whole week was perfectly structured. The lessons/sessions were clear and presented calmly enough that I could absorb them (even when I was really tired) even though English is not my native language. As the retreat progressed, some purging and releasing took place and I gained clarity & understanding about several big questions that had been bothering me for years about mind, life, awakening, pain and so on. Many harmful thought patterns and beliefs also came to light.
I have journeying for a long time in great suffering completely lost through conflicting teachings and felt so lonely so this retreat was like an oasis because I saw, felt, and heard others' experiences of hardship and pain, I felt that I was not alone and that I was heard and seen.

Dan & Lilla and the entire beautiful TSC team, you make this world a much better place for all of us! I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of this life-changing retreat.

The on-line IAM retreat at the Samadhi Center was the single most powerful and transformative experience of my life.  Dan's direct pointing, the self-inquiry and the prolonged sitting left no escape for the egoic mind.  I had a profound awakening to my true self and my conditioned self was revealed to me.  My seeking is over, and I have found my path.  This retreat is not to add more to yourself or to fix anything. My journey with the Samadhi Center and the 7-Day Awakening Retreat has been one of the most profound experiences of my life. Guided by the compassionate and insightful facilitation of Dave Schmidt and his incredible team, this retreat offered me the tools and space to deepen my understanding of self and awaken to the presence that lies beyond the mind.

From the very first day, I encountered a powerful moment that set the tone for my retreat. When my initial dyad partner did not join, Lila stepped in, offering the imperative: "Tell me who you are." Though I don’t recall the exact words exchanged, I vividly remember the profound awareness that arose within me. It was a direct experience of knowing—a presence that is always there, beyond the limitations of body and thought. This single dyad opened a doorway into a deeper understanding of being.

The profound simplicity and clarity of that experience lingered throughout the retreat. Lila’s guidance and question at the end, asking if I had done dyads before, reinforced my inner connection to this timeless truth. While I didn’t speak with her again during the retreat, her impact stayed with me, a persistent reminder of the depth and beauty of this work.

Dave’s teachings were equally transformative. His presence and words pointed directly to the heart of awakening, guiding us not toward intellectual concepts but into direct experience. Each teaching and practice deepened my sense of freedom from conditioned responses, especially the insights into how the body and mind react to triggers. Joined the online retreat "I Am" with the purpose of getting the spiritual fire back and to get the body back to its meditation grinds. No other expectation and was lost for words throughout the 7 days.

If you think that spirituality means going somewhere, or something that you need to do or go sit in the Himalayas or whatever this retreat will be an eye opener to what The True Spiritual Path really is.

I attended a Wonderful Online retreat, for 7 days.  The schedule was full with a variety of teachings, meditations, sharings, Small group meditative activities [dyads]  and  a Warm and Welcoming Host and group of facilitators.   Individual assistance came forward during small group[dyad] meetings and the faces of the attendees were All Warm and Bright by the end of the retreat.  Several folks shared about 'experiences'  related to and including Awakening, Enlightenment and I think Everyone there Progressed  in Samadhi over the week.. Both I AM retreats have left me speechless and in deep gratitude. I simply can't find right words that could describe how transformative these retreats are. On my spiritual journey I found myself dying of thirst for deeper knowledge and understanding. Wherever I went I remained thirsty, not many things really resonated with me. I was deeply sceptical about the online version of this retreat, but I decided to give it a chance. It turned out to be a life changing experience. From the first moment on I felt that this finally resonates with me and I was absorbing every drop of this nectar like someone dying from thirst.
Going through such retreat with loving guidance of this entire team is something you can only wish for. Dan's way of sharing wisdom and knowledge is breathtaking. Love and dedication of ATW team moved me deeply and my gratitude goes beyond what words can say. So I guess I'll rather just remain silent from here on and shed another tear of gratitude.

A humbling and life changing experience
I had the honor of experiencing a 7-day meditation retreat with Dan, Lilla, Tayama and the team at ATW and it was a life changing experience.  Unlike other retreats and workshops, where the enquiring mind is engaged to "learn" new concepts, Dan, allowed his "I AM" presence to permeate the "I AM" presence of the participants to make this experience transcendental with an inherent inner "knowing"/"remembering" of who we truly are coming into the fore.  It anchored the Divinity within us and allowed us to experience ourselves in the BEING, instead of the doing.  I am ever so grateful to Dan - his inner wisdom effortlessly talks to the layman, allowing the understanding to permeate the subconscious and awaken an inner awareness that has always been there, albeit it was latent. I AM Samadhi Online Retreat
It is the best ever retreat I've had in my life. It is life, counsiouss, and life trajectory changing just in 7 days. A group of caring, supportive, loving, compassionate, and patient people say that they don't change the lives' of others, but they do! They help awaken our true nature and get our memories back to who we truly are. It is not easy to follow all of the directions, practices, and schedule of a week retreat. Yet, the program is so intense with a lot of material, teachings, practices, sound journeys, and sleeping circles sleeping yoga (nidra). This intensity and amazing, and it is a reason for this strain: through the physical body tiredness the mind patterns' breakthrough and miracle happen. You are not alone at this journey. You are in the team of the others who pass through the same stages and confusion, and you are loved and supported. There wasn't a single situation or person that couldn't get attention of this beautiful facility team. For me this week was like to wake up from a bad dream - from painful, struggling, and desperate life to bright, bold & happy one! My mind was strong when I met Dan and this Samadhi Center. However, my true nature is stronger! :-) I am powerful, loving, immortal essense who doesn't have to do anything what the society, family, friends, and heredity has forced me to feel like I have to. No goals are truly needed because no work or job is requested anymore :-) I feel so happy, so free from anything!!! It is just the beginning though. The more fruitful life is ahead with the guidelines received at this reateats (this is my 2nd and beautiful retreat). I have to mention the financial opportunity with great compassion and affordable price of this retreat. I saw so many different big promisiong and pricy reateat, however it is impossible for me to afford no matter what the promises are. Thes center doesn't promice anything. It is inviting people to see, feel, and to do what they want for their own sake for very affordable price. It is important, because there are more people who cannot afford any expensive spiritual studies, but want that shift and opportunities.  The Samadhi center people chnage a little, but they do soooo much and spend soooo many resources (time, energy, love) that it worth muuuuch more, believe me.  Thank you sooo much for very important work, folks! I love you so much and I look forward to see you in all further retreats and to communicate in community, because you are my family! Many awaken people know that there aren't many around with whom you can share your true nature. This community and collective sphere is so bright and powerful! Love you with all my heart. Who is in knowledge of that feeling of Love? It is pure, empty, but at the same time the live, moving, and counsciousness awareness in the stillness that is connected to eberything including every wire of this collectove! What Dan offers is a taste of the Himalayas, right in the comfort of your own living room. Through his effortless teachings, Dan brings you to the heart of a distant ashram, into the eyes of an ancient sage, bringing ageless teachings to life, while squashing the ego's misinterpretations, self-centered fantasies, and misguided ambitions. I wish I encountered Dan 10 years ago, when I started walking the wrong direction on my 'spiritual' path. Dan is a modern grounding in that which is timeless. He is a forthright teacher, intensely generous, without ulterior motives. The more time anyone is blessed to spend with Dan, the closer you will get to your goals, which of course, is a peaceful and purposeful connection to the present, an awakening to the world, of our shared awareness. If you're serious about inner work, the Samadhi Center can change your life.

I've been meditating since before I was a teen and have been to a bunch of ashrams and meditation retreats. And yet, I've done some of the best spiritual work of my life at the retreats here.

Here's the thing: this place isn't for the merely curious. It's for the truly sincere seeker.

I've known Dan (the founder) for over ten years and I feel very thankful to call him a friend.

I've done multiple retreats here and the major thing that that's different here?

They really care. And that shows up in all the details: the structure of the retreats, the way Dan screens folks that wouldn't be a good fit, the reasonable pricing and the scholarships and frequent Q&A's with the participants.

From the sacred grounds within an old growth forest to the most professional staff, my life will be forever changed. I basked for 9 days in pure presence and discovered Truth. It was here that I lost everything and was completely unborn into a limitless being of pure awareness. My adventure into my inner being, after watching the series of films and interviews with Dan, led me to the Samadhi Centre. So much of the depictions and words rang true and I felt this to be a natural step forward on my spiritual journey. I wasn’t disappointed, the immediate handing over of all digital devices and the adoption of silence for the next nine days was challenging to say the least.

The daily schedule of  five hours meditation beginning at 5.30am was daunting, the vigorous self-enquiry Dyads thrust you relentlessly into self introspection, all carefully guided and choreographed by Dan and Lilla. My initial micro-dosing of Iboga didn’t appear to have the desired affect, but on day three while lying in my cosy little cabin, it revealed itself to me in waves of effortless clarity.

The Dyads became more illuminating as I was able to delve deeper into the ‘self’ and move ever closer to my true nature. The frequent transition from one person to another meant we got to know each others’ most intimate inner details, at the same time we helped each other, on our journey on the ’pathless path’. There was no escape. Timely interventions from Dan and Lilla continued until finally awakening revealed itself. Change was immediate and there would be no going back.

This was all interspersed with Gong/sound bathes, daily group discussions on how each one was progressing, hindrances to progress, how one could overcome obstacles and again insightful sound bites of wisdom from both Dan and Lilla were always welcome and helpful. Of course, I must also mention the daily, delicious food served to us and consumed in silence, by Andrew and Liz.

It didn’t end there. On day five Chad joined the group, to led us through what was loosely called ‘breath work’. It comprised of a three part breath of inhalation, followed by a strong exhalation, lasting approximately one hour without interruption. During which time, there was a slow gradual build up of energy throughout the entire body until suddenly and without warning, I felt transported into a place of stillness, silence and serenity. Without going into too much detail I’ll just say, a place where Love was in abundance.

It didn’t end there. The following day Chad introduced us to the option of experiencing, different amounts 5meo or not at all, it was a personal choice. I chose the middle path and decided to deepen even further this spiritual path which I had knowingly undertaken. Again, without going into too much detail I will simply say that it was/is the most enriching, life changing, mind altering, experience of my life and  for which, I will be eternally grateful to Dan, Lilla and Chad.

The Samadhi Center's IAM retreat is spectacular from start to finish. This place has all the elements required for Awakening. I loved all the unique and creative aspects the course exhibited from day to day. There is nothing else quite like this anywhere in the world. The Zendo is of the highest quality, as they spared at no expense. I am especially greatful for the compassionate support I was provided with during my trip. This place is the ordinary to extraordinary there is no retreat  on the Earth that holds a container as tightly as Lilla and Dan. The team was absolutely amazing in every way. It literally was the answer to every riddle I could never find the answer too and it changed my life in ways that words could never describe. The 3 days at the self inquiry retreat have been deeply transformative. There was no doing it seems from my part but the Dyad process is able to go deep into the subconscious mind and cleanse it. What remains, which is the simplicity of being, that shines through and is felt. I have never felt this before, just to be!

I have participated in each of the retreats the Samadhi Center offers. Each one has been a gift.  I have tried to write a review several times but the challenge has been to find words to describe my experience with the Samadhi Center.

The short review would be- if you’re looking for a retreat center to do dedicated work, go.

The longer review- the whole team at the Center cares. Truly cares. They meet you where you are and are happy to be part of your journey.  The skillful guidance I have received has, in short, been life changing.

The physical Center and the land it rests on are beautiful. The forest is delightful to explore. The night sky is stunning.  The delicious food is lovingly prepared and nourishes deeply.  The cabins are cozy and comfortable.  Having day to day tasks of cooking and cleaning taken care of by a group of people who are called to be of service is truly special.  How fortunate to not worry about those tasks and focus solely on the practice.

The extra options available (depending on the retreat you’re on there are sound journeys, yoga, breathwork, cacao ceremonies etc) are also wonderful.  Participating in any of these extras while in the midst of a silent retreat is quite different than participating at home.  The experience is so much brighter and alive.

His dedication to "awakening the world," his depth of knowledge and practice, and his kindness and humility are inspiring. I have now done 3 retreats at Samadhi Center and regularly attend Dan's monthly online meditation and Q&A. He has helped me a lot over these 4 years and I trust him completely. One week after the 9-day "I Am Retreat," I still feel "born again!"  I feel the reset of my digestive and nervous systems.  I sleep through the night and hot flashes have disappeared.  I am aware of triggers, but there is much more space for response, and the depth of communication with my mate and others continues to expand.  There is ease in allowing things to be as they present, and for this I'm truly grateful.  I am not troubled by the arising of frustration in myself and others; I see the beauty in not stifling the flow of energy.  I am free from the desperate urge to awaken.  Though I am not in an "abiding sense of awakening," I have no need for seeking!  So, I'm free to play with life!  In all of its manifestations.  I continue to paint and plan for an upcoming costumed CD release party, an event to share the joy with everyone!  I hold two images in mind about the retreat experience.  Imagine being on a swing.  Day by day at the center, gaining momentum... back and forth, higher and higher... until at the highest possible upswing, you leap... and remain suspended in mid-air!  Supported!  Imagine being a child.  Anything is possible!  You can be Superman or a frog, the wind or a cowgirl.  Then, as you grow, the programming of the world intrudes and life becomes rather serious. This is the best retreat I have even been to. On one hand nothing is going on and then suddenly you notice everything has changed. It is just alchemy. There is no words how profound it is and how wonderful are the people that organize it. If you think you experienced everything or know everything (and especially then) take part in this retreat. Plunked deep in nature, the Samadhi Center offers you everything your heart desires most deeply.  The 3-day I Am Intensive retreat is utterly transformative. The weekend I attended, led by Dan and Attilla,, allowed me to have the most profound healing experience I have ever known. Beyond that aspect being, well, EVERYTHING!!, the beds were comfy,  the site is quiet and clean and the food was top notch delicious. Every moment spent there was a moment to treasure. Wow, there aren't enough words to describe this place! But I'll try: I went on a personal retreat and it was absolutely fantastic. The place is so serene and peaceful, almost magical. There are beautiful trails to walk on and spots to meditate in nature. Every person in the centre is so generous, kind, knowledgeable and humble. Their support and care is so genuine and I feel immense gratitude for that.
I really felt like I got to truly disconnect and deepen my meditation practice in ways I couldn't have done at home. I really recommend this place to anyone who seeks to go deeper and find out their true nature. My stay here was so incredibly meaningful.
Also, Jerome's food is sooo good!

It is hard to put into words how extraordinary and completely life-changing the 9 day I AM retreat is. The structure is so beautifully designed to maximize the possibility of awakening. It may be difficult at times, and there are many lows and highs, all of which come together to create an unforgettable total experience. All other retreats pale by comparison. The location is lovely. I will make this review straight and to the point. I attended the Samadhi Center for a 3 day retreat from the 5th to the 7th of May. I went with no expectations but could sense I was about to experience something profound. Based on my experience there is no faster and better way to wake up and experience your true nature than spending 48 hours staring into the eyes of other human beings and being completely vulnerable, humble and exposed. In saying that I can assure you, you could not be in better hands than the facilitators of this retreat.

They are an extraordinary, kind and humble group of souls who will guide and instruct you into the deepest and most true state of who you are.

Besides the wonderful  accommodation, food cooked with deep love, and an empathy, compassion and humility you may never have experienced before in a group of people whose deep desire is to support your souls true desire to remember the light that you are hidden by the shadow of your personality.

You must make the pilgrimage to this “Temple of Initiation” to be baptized back into your Soul/I AM consciousness.

Is it easy ? Not at all

Is it worth it ? You have never done anything as important or as much a priority as this work in your life.

With the deepest love for the extraordinary souls who are the keepers and custodians of this Ancient Wisdom and this Sacred Location.

(April 2023) I just returned from an amazing 3 day Self Inquiry Dyad Retreat experience at the Samadhi Center in Canada with Dan, Lilla, Jerome, Jenn, and John.  I went into this experience having no idea what to expect because I have never done any form of spiritual retreat before. Up until this point I had only read about doing self inquiry independently but was intrigued about the concept of working with others to discover my true self through this method.  What I experienced far exceeded what I could have imagined because the mind could never understand it.  Being with this group of enlightened instructors and the group of students that I worked with could only be described as "home".  I felt so loved, supported and I could never thank this group of people enough for what I experienced and have continued to experience even though I have already returned back to my residence.  I am still in true awe about how much support I received at the Samadhi Center because they structure it so the group is small so they can work closely with everyone to guide and direct you in a way that could only be done by truly enlightened individuals who were called to do this work.  As far as the accommodations are concerned I love nature and this center is located in the most beautiful forest setting.  I slept in a cabin that I found so peaceful.  Other members of the group slept in the main building which looked so comfortable as well.  I haven't been a vegetarian for too long or too consistently but Jerome cooked the most delicious vegetarian meals and snacks that I could have ever imagined!!!! The 10 IAM retreat was beyond my expectations, what I expressed here will fall short of what it was for me. I'm in complete Awe and gratitude and it has been the best gift I have given to myself to experience the fullness of my being.

The space has an amazing vibe, quiet, breath taking landscapes and beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The stay was very comfortable, every detail has been well thought out and harmoniously curated.

Dan has been one of the most beautiful beings I have ever met, his practice, teaching and presence are impeccable, he has the perfect compendium to carry out the awakening to your experience.

The team John, Lilla, Jerome, Jenn and Chad, each an expert in their area, it has been enriching to meet them and live so many moments together.

I recommend it to all people, there is no particular profile, from opening yourself to the experience, the discomfort of the mind, learning to meet great people without the need to know who they are, going deeper into meditation, aha! moments, even the craziest things that comes to mind, what you cannot imagine because it goes beyond what you know or have been told.

As soon as you step foot in the centre's premises, you can feel that it's a special place. My experience was profound and it played a pivotal role in my journey. Words can not make justice. The food, services (transpersonal psychotherapy with Jenn, heart-mind tune-up with Jerome, meditations with Dan ), were all nothing short of amazing. The retreat's environment and schedule is optimal for deepening your meditations and getting closer to your True Self and Purpose. I was held with tender loving care during my 3-day weekend intensive. Gruelling work to strip away layers of ego occurred, however the process was gently and lovingly supported by Dan and Lilla, with Jenn and Jerome in the background. Thoughtful attention to a super clean environment, delicious vegetarian meals and opportunities to walk in quiet contemplation in the silent forest beautifully rounded out the meditation. Since I’m home a sense of expansion and openness have settled in, reminding me of how my practice has deepened. Feeling deep gratitude for the entire team and experience🙏. The distinctions of the teachings were presented creatively with competency and compassion. Dan, Lilla ,Jenn, John and Jerome entered into relationship with us coming from a deep commitment to serve our evolution as practioners. There was abundant humour as well as a disciplined approach to practice.
I had a very cosy little cabin that became home for the 10 days.
The food was absolutely amazing, creatively prepared with Love.
At the conclusion of the retreat all of us were in deep rapport and in deep appreciation of each other as well as having a deep appreciation of Dan, Lilla , Jenn, John and Jerome and, of course the cooks (-:

This is a place for transformation. I was held with love in a safe space to be able to just focus my attention on going within! I have been here twice and both experiences have been life changing!

The IAM retreat at this centre is perfect for serious meditation practice and inquiry about one's true nature. Every activity is aligned to provoke "spiritual awakening", and a shift in perception, to discern what is true... from what is not. Serious, beautiful, and loving people. What a great journey!
This 10 days IAM retreat is  a gift from GOD , is life changing. I could not say enough of my gratitude.
It is an express train bringing you directly to peace, to stillness, towards ultra truth. I enjoy every minutes of it.
While the retreat day after day gradually unfolding, I had to exclaim how thoughtful and perfect the retreat was designed ! The schedule of each day, the activities from day 1 to day 10, step by step, bring you to deeper and deeper presence.
I had never thought I could witness so many Awaken! Greatly encouraged me on this journey. The destiny of the journey is no longer out of reach. With Samadhi Center being here, holding my hands on the path, I see Awakening is just here.

A meditation retreat at the Samadhi Centre is one of the most beautiful experiences Ive had in a lifetime. The space feels calm and filled with love. The nature is incredible the location has a magical feeling. I find meditation difficult yet with the structure and instruction provided by Dan I found ways to let go, quiet my mind and learn more about myself than I ever could have imagined possible. My experience at the Samadhi Center, a beautiful and intentional space, was one of the most valuable and enlightening of my life. Daniel and Tanya create a profound container of silence and teaching because they reside at a depth of consciousness that is deep, true and devoted. Samadhi Center provides a safe, nonsectarian place to meditate. Dan and Tanya will set the bar high but leave it up to you to do your work internally. I have been to two retreats at the center and emerged both times a deeper, more centered person ewith a greated capacity to meditate and be mindful. Dan and Tanya are beautifully sensitive and insightful guides for those seeking to develop true awareness. The building is perfect for meditation retreats, lodge-like, but very airy and bright. I really appreciate that it is designed for relatively small groups (<20). The heavily forested rocky Canadian Shield land surrounding the center quiets the mind and is very conducive to  contemplation. Though you get the feeling of being deep in the wilds, the center has good roads and paths and is very accessible by car. The food is great and the lodging options are good and appropriately minimalist for meditation retreats (bunks, private rooms or little private cabins), not lux but entirely comfortable and minimal.  Also, GONGS! If you already know, you know. The Samadhi Center is a spectacular place.  My wife and I did a weekend silent retreat over a month ago and I'm still experiencing profound benefits from my time spent exploring nature, self and unwinding in a beautiful zendo set on top of a small hill on a dozen or more acres of pristine land with plenty of huge mature pine trees.   Dan and Tanya are caring and conscientious hosts that attended to all participants needs.
